ABOUT ABOUT

Labor Day weekend join us for a Virgo bash as we celebrate the birthdays of Motions family members Ernest Fountain, Andrew Hogans, and Rhea Jones with special guest DJ's Duce Martinez and Tee Alford.

Only a few individuals have had success in various musical genres. They are not categorized nor pigeonholed, but applauded and respected. Duce Martinez is among them. This DJ, producer, remixer and performer has traveled throughout the music and entertainment industries leaving a body of impressive works and accomplishments. By the mid to late 1990's, Duce and his partner Jose Burgress joined forces as Soul Creation and Duce emassed a resume that resembles a who's who list of outstanding recording artists including: T La Rock, Fearless Four, The Treachrous Three, Just Ice, King Sun, Lauren Hill, Ted Mills (Blue Magic), Raw Stilo, India, Kenny Bobien, Su Su Bobien, Stephanie Cooke, Colonel Abrams, the late Sabrynaah Pope, Michelle Weeks, Dawn Tallman, Cassio Ware, Theo Gerideau.

Joining Duce on the decks will be Tee Alford of the Funky People camp. Tee experienced initial success as a music producer. The exploits of his first record label Funky People Records would reach national and international acclaim. Over the next few years, Tee began writing music with various artists and producers and released several projects on Area Code Records, as well as other labels. The growing attention of his work on titles like “Moonwalk”, “Journey”, “Funky People” by Cassio Ware and "Lift Him Up" by Su Su Bobien & Talipharoah, prompted Tee to reorganize his endeavors. In 1997, along with colleagues Kevin Hedge and Josh Milan, Tee formed the Joint Ventures Group. The Joint Ventures Group was a multi-faceted enterprise responsible for managing: Blaze’s music production; the operation of NYC’s Club Shelter nite club ('97-'99); artist booking; and the worldwide distribution of several independent record companies. Their efforts togther would yield not only new music business opportunities, but also the popular tunes "Lovelee Dae" by Blaze and "Innerside" by Shazz, a remix which became a Club Shelter favorite. In 1998, Tee began opening regularly for Timmy Regisford at the Shelter nightclub alongisde Freddy Sanon and Ruben Toro.
